Mary A. (Czerwonka) Iwanicki

Mary A. Iwanicki (Czerwonka) age 97, of Taunton, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 9, 2022, at her home. She was the wife of the late William C. Iwanicki and was also preceded in death by her first husband, the late Boleswa “Lefty” Gay.

Born and raised in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Agnes (Dykas) Czerwonka.

She worked as an assembler at Bristol Jewelry for many years. Mary enjoyed reading, and cooking, especially Polish food. She often assisted at the annual Polish Picnic in Taunton.

Mary is survived by her stepdaughter, Rosalie Gajda and her husband Frank of Taunton; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Theodore Czerwonka and his wife Ruth. Mary was preceded in death by her longtime neighbor and friend, Nancy Smith, who was her “guardian angel”.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mary’s family on Thursday , December 15, 2022, from 8:15 to 9:15 am, at Sowiecki-Snyder Home for Funerals & Cremation Services, 69 West Britannia Street, Taunton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, in Holy Rosary Church, 80 Bay Street, Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, East Britannia Steet, Taunton.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory can be made to a charity of one’s choice and will be greatly appreciated.
