Daniel Bannon

June 5, 1966 — May 30, 2025

Daniel Bannon, age 58, of Taunton, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Morton Hospital after a period of declining health. He was the loving husband of Cynthia M. (Powers) Bannon.

Born and raised in Malden, he was the son of the late John and Claire (Spencer) Bannon.

Dan was the youngest of eight children and attended Malden Schools.

Daniel spent many years working as a camper technician, and he had a knack for identifying the class of every RV he saw—something he loved to do while driving with his family. A passionate guitarist, he especially enjoyed playing rock music. His deep love for music was unmistakable; he could often guess a song's artist and release year with impressive accuracy.

Forever young at heart, Daniel loved video games, spontaneous adventures, and the kind of wild fun that included letting all the neighborhood kids—and himself—jump off the roof into the pool. He was a well-known presence in his neighborhood, always ready with a conversation or a helping hand.

Daniel enjoyed being outdoors and had a particular fondness for rainy days. He had a soft spot for dogs, especially his beloved late companion Teddy and his current dog, Obi.

Those who knew him will remember his sharp wit and often corny sarcasm. Beneath his tough exterior was a deeply loving and caring soul. His presence, humor, and warmth will be missed by all who loved him.

Besides his wife, he leaves his two children, Bridget E. Bannon and Harrison P. Bannon, both of Taunton; six siblings, Michael Bannon of Florida, Deb Sullivan of Florida, Stephen Bannon of Revere, Thomas Bannon of Wakefield, John Bannon of Manchester, NH, and Phillip Bannon of Everett; a grandson, Oliver Bannon, many nieces and nephews, and his best friend who was like a brother, Brian Cooper. He was the brother of the late Kevin Bannon.
