Elida Divina Jorge, de 90 años, residente de Millis, Massachusetts, falleció en paz en su hogar el viernes 2 de octubre de 2026, rodeada de sus hijos, Fausto y Lisandro, su nuera, Ruth, y su nieta, Luz Andrea.
SU VIDA
Nació el 22 de marzo de 1936 en Las Matas de Santa Cruz, Montecristi, República Dominicana, hija de los difuntos Luis María Estévez y Andrea Morel Luna. En 1990 llegó a los Estados Unidos y se estableció en Queens, Nueva York. Elida fue la amada esposa de Salomón Jorge, ya fallecido, con quien compartió 55 años de matrimonio. Desde su llegada a los Estados Unidos, trabajó como niñera, cuidando a los niños con paciencia y cariño. Aunque no pertenecía a ninguna iglesia, practicaba su fe católica. Su pasión por criar niños marcó toda su vida. De ella nació un profundo sentido de compasión y un corazón bondadoso, siempre dispuesto a cuidar de los demás. Será recordada por el amor y el cuidado que brindó a quienes la rodeaban. Le encantaba cocinar para sus hijos, compartir tiempo de calidad con su familia y amigos, y escuchar música romántica.
FAMILIA
Le sobreviven sus hijos, Fausto Ismael Jorge Estévez y Lisandro Miguel Jorge Estévez; su nuera, Ruth Febrillet; su nieta, Luz Andrea Jorge Febrillet; y sus hermanas, Altagracia Estévez y Flor Fernández Estévez. También le sobreviven sus sobrinos: Yohanny, Germán, Yuberkis y Aníbal Cruz; Luis y Dianna Fernández; y Dionisio y Digna Castro. Le precedieron en la muerte su esposo, Salomón Jorge, y sus hermanos, Teresa y Caonabo Estévez.

Elida Divina Jorge, 90, of Millis, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 2, 2026, surrounded by her sons, Fausto and Lisandro, her daughter-in-law, Ruth, and her granddaughter, Luz Andrea.
HER LIFE
Born on March 22, 1936, in Las Matas de Santa Cruz, Montecristi, Dominican Republic, she was the daughter of the late Luis Maria Estevez and Andrea Morel Luna. In 1990 she came to the United States, settling in Queens, New York. Elida was the beloved wife of the late Salomon Jorge, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage. From the time she arrived in the United States, she worked as a babysitter, caring for children with patience and affection. Though she did not belong to any church, she practiced her Catholic faith. Her passion for raising children shaped her whole life. Through it she developed a deep sense of compassion and a caring heart, always ready to look after others. She will be remembered for the love and care she gave to those around her. She loved cooking for her sons, sharing quality time with family and friends, and listening to romantic music.
FAMILY
Elida is survived by her sons, Fausto Ismael Jorge Estevez and Lisandro Miguel Jorge Estevez; her daughter-in-law, Ruth Febrillet; her granddaughter, Luz Andrea Jorge Febrillet; and her sisters, Altagracia Estevez and Flor Fernandez Estevez. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Yohanny, German, Yuberkis, and Anibal Cruz; Luis and Dianna Fernandez; and Dionisio and Digna Castro. She was predeceased by her husband, Salomon Jorge, and by her siblings, Teresa and Caonabo Estevez.
