Erlene Peno

Erlene May Peno, age 78, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Avalon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Warwick, Rhode Island.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Henry J. and Erlene M. (Dutcher) Harris
She retired from the Scandinavian Home in Cranston as a CNA after 17 years of providing compassionate care to others.
Erlene was selfless and always prioritized the needs of others above her own. She was a loving person who cared deeply about those around her and had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren.
Outside of work, Erlene had a passion for reading, particularly biographies, and found entertainment in watching crime and court shows. Keeping up with politics on television was another one of her interests.
Erlene is survived by her children, Lisa Bastien, Denise Casey, Melissa DeCiantis, George Stockwell, Robert A. Rose Jr., and Kristine Peno; as well as thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Erlene leaves behind her siblings Gary Harris, Jeanne Harris, Shirley Sharpe, Darlene McArdle, Laura Harris; nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Henry Harris, Robert Harris; and now rests peacefully.
In accordance with her family's wishes, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
