George A. Mills, age 78, of Norton, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at home. He was the beyond-loving husband of Marion M. (Mitchell) Mills. They spent fifty-three years married. They have been together for more than half their lives.
Born and raised in Dorchester, he grew up on Ellington St. He was the son of the late John I. and Teresa I. (Reddick) Mills. George grew up loving all kinds of animals and had plenty of them, including dogs, reptiles, and rodents, and even raised pigeons. George is said to have been a skilled boxer as well as a black belt in karate he also taught karate classes. He was a phenomenal photographer and was extremely talented with a pencil, paint, or pen. With vast collections of all types of art. George was a true artist He, also created & published a fashion magazine called “Me”. He would later work as an EA1 Highway Inspector for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for over twenty years. A career he enjoyed and would retire from.
An avid photographer, George always had his Nikon with him ready to take pictures. George has been described by friends and family as authentic and loyal. He will be known for his “tough as nails” exterior but was a teddy bear when it came to his family.
Besides his wife Marion, he leaves his four sons, George, Sean, Andrè, and Kareem; only daughter Atiya; six grandchildren, Victoria, Shavonne, Davion, Skylar, Christian, and Logan; two great-grandchildren Brayden and Emma; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend George’s Celebration of Life on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 2-4 pm, at Trinitarian Congregational Church, 2 Pine Street, Norton, MA 02766. Flowers are welcome (flower delivery will be accepted on December 20th and the church doors open for deliveries at 10:00 am).
