John E Whitters Jr

John E. Whitters, Jr., age 81, of East Taunton, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the Lifecare Center of Raynham. He was the husband of Ann Marie (Banas) Whitters.

Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late John E. and Nora (Pelton) Whitters.

He worked as a supervisor at Bay State Gas Company for many years before retiring.

John was a former parishioner of Holy Rosary Church in Taunton. An avid golfer, he was a lifelong New England Sports fan, and enjoyed relaxation while watching TV, especially Monday night sports.

Mr. Whitters was a member of the Elks and will be remembered for his pleasant and jovial personality. He was fun to be around, easy going, and people liked his company.

Besides his wife, he leaves his two sons, Ryan Whitters of Taunton and John E. “Jed” Whitters, III of Connecticut; a sister Margaret “Peg” Ludovina and her family of South Carolina; and five grandchildren, Cameron Silvia, Brady Silvia, Kayleigh Whitters, Maxwell Whitters, and Jaye Whitters. He was the brother of the late Noreen Mendes.

To honor the wishes of his family, a celebration of life will be privately held.
