Joseph Edward Plentus, age 70, of Berkley, passed away on July 3, 2026, at AccentCare Inpatient Center in Milton. He was the husband of Virginia “Ginny” (LaFrance) Plentus.
Born and raised in Taunton, he was the son of the late George and Jennie (Cwiek) Plentus.
He was a graduate of Taunton High School.
Joe worked as a truck driver for his company, JE Plentus Rubbish Removal, for many years.
An avid fisherman, he had numerous accomplishments and pastimes, such as climbing Mt. Washington, building his house, listening to music, especially James Taylor, cooking, and watching cooking shows. He could often be found mowing the law with his grandson on the John Deere ride on mower. He will be remembered for his funny and easy-going personality. Joe was a good conversationalist and was easy to talk to. He also loved to eat chocolate with his grandson.
Besides his wife Ginny, he is survived by his three children Joseph Michael Plentus of Gardner, MA, Jon T. Plentus of Berkley, and Katie Plentus (son in law Mathew) of East Taunton; and his grandson Keith Vezina of East Taunton. He was the brother of the late Michael Plentus.
To honor his family’s wishes, his funeral services and interment in St. Joseph Cemetery will be private. Visiting hours will be respectfully omitted.
Arrangements entrusted to Sowiecki-Snyder Home for Funerals & Cremation Services, 69 West Britannia Street, Taunton.
