Manuel P. DaRosa

Manuel P. DaRosa , 86, of Taunton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Wedgemere Healthcare in Taunton, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Valentina (Burgo) DaRosa.

Born in Brava, Cape Verde, he was the son of the late Antonio and Domingas (Lopez) DaRosa.

He worked at Stern-Leach for many years before retirement.

Manuel was a man of faith who enjoyed playing cards, fishing, socializing, traveling, scratch tickets, telling jokes, and was a member of the Alice Torm Ship. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends.

Mr. DaRosa is survived by his children, Adelina Spencer and her husband Antonio of Taunton, Arthur DaRosa of Taunton, Pedro Burgo DaRosa and his wife Liz of Taunton, Ana Araujo and her husband Ray of Pawtucket, RI, Jose Burgo DaRosa of Taunton, and Sarita DaRosa and her husband Jose of Pawtucket, RI; two brothers, Jose Veiga of Providence, RI and Alvaro DaRosa of Taunton; a sister Maria Avelino of Taunton; twenty three grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Sebastian DaRosa and Frank DaRosa.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend Manuel’s Mass of Christian Burial on Friday , December 15, 2023 at 11:00 am, in Saint Andrew the Apostle Church, 19 Kilmer Avenue, Taunton. Visitation will be held prior to his funeral mass from 9:30 am to 10:45 am, in the Church. Interment will be private.
