Mary Lou Magoon

Mary Lou Magoon (Shaw) age 87, of Taunton, passed away on September 26, 2025, at Morton Hospital in Taunton. She was the wife of the late Ernest Gilbert Magoon.

Born and raised in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Arthur W. and Elenora L. (Steliga) Shaw.

Mary Lou worked as a telephone operator for the City of Taunton and Morton Hospital for many years, retiring in 1998. 

Some of her interests include reading, sewing and wordsearches. 

She is survived by three of her children, Colleen Markow and her husband Jay of South Weymouth, A. Shawn Magoon and his wife Carol of New Hampshire, and Bonnie Christine Anjali of New Hampshire; a sister, Joyce J. Kish; and six grandchildren, Angela, Alison, Christie, Rikhav, Hamel, and Jenna as well as three great-grandchildren. Mary Lou was the mother of the late Heidi Marie Magoon-Connor and sister of the late Arthur G. Shaw.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend her committal service and interment on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 10:00 am, in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue in Bourne, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband. Guests are asked to arrive at the funeral procession assembly area outside the administrative office by 9:45 am.
