Philomene St. Louis, age 65, of Taunton, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, at Brandon Woods of New Bedford.
Born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, she was the daughter of the late Philonia Etienne and Joachin Guy St Louis. She grew up in Haiti and attended Franck Etienne School. She was blessed with her first daughter, Kimberly, before migrating to the United States when Kimberly was 5 years old in 1999. She was later blessed with her second daughter, Sherell, in 2003
Philo was gainfully employed as a CNA at Uphams Corner Health Center in Dorchester, MA for 20 years before relocating to Taunton, MA with her daughter Kimberly.
She loved to sing and do hair, often putting twists in her own hair and lovingly twisting her friend's hair as well. She spent a relentless amount of time with her daughter Kim, enjoying days together at the poolside, shopping, and dining at restaurants. A woman of strong faith, she faithfully attended her church in Boston for many years and enjoyed worshipping and being part of her church community. She was extremely family-oriented and caring toward everyone close to her.
Some of her interests included cooking, gardening, listening to music, shopping, and going to church. She was very adventurous and often went everywhere with her daughters. She had a great sense of humor, loved telling jokes, dancing, and spending time with the people she loved. She loved her daughters with all that she had within her and dedicated much of her life to caring for and supporting them. Philomene especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, whom she adored deeply. Some of the best days of her life included her daughter Kimberly giving birth to her first grandchild and seeing her daughter Sherell graduate high school and continue her education in college.
Philo was diagnosed with the early onset of dementia and remained in the loving care of her daughter Kimberly at the family home in Taunton until it was no longer medically possible. During her time at Morton Hospital, she captured the hearts of many staff members with her daily ritual of walking. She was later transferred to Brandon Woods, where she spent her final days before peacefully transitioning.
Philomene leaves her two daughters, Kimberly Anilus of Taunton and Sherell Jeudi of Boston; her companion, Shiler Jeudi; a brother, Marc Etienne; two sisters, Lorry Sagesse and Patricia Josette Bazile; and her three grandchildren, Marquise Samuels, Messiah Skinner, and Serenity Skinner. She also leaves to cherish her memory, her church family, as well as her close friends with Francois, Keisha, Fafan, Judith, and many more She was preceded in death by her brother, Jean Phito.
