Robert Allen Newhall

Robert A. Newhall, age 71, of East Taunton, passed away on July 14, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Plymouth. He was the husband of Teresa (Grayden) Chaves-Newhall.

Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Harold C. and Marion T. (Brady) Newhall.

He served in the United States Army.

Bobby worked as a truck driver, delivering mail for R & F Trucking prior to retiring.

He deeply cared for his community and the environment, serving on the Taunton Conservation Board. Robert enjoyed hosting his show “Sound Off” with WVBF Radio on AM station 1530. In addition, he served as a youth minister at Nazarene Church in Lakeville and loved animals. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Family and friends will remember him for his caring and outgoing nature who carried wisdom. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed helping others.

Besides his wife Teresa, he is survived by his two sons, Robert C. Newhall and his wife Crystal of Holyoke, MA, Jonathan V. Newhall and his wife Amber of Middleboro, and stepson Brian Chaves and his wife Erin of Fall River; two brothers Harry Newhall, Jr. and Michael Newhall; two sisters Rose Marie Newhall and Geraldine Newhall-Westcoat; and his grandchildren Sunsett, Adin, Barrett, Savanna, Caleb, Makenzie, Clifford, and Sammie. He was also the brother of the late Willam Newhall, Margaret Neville, and Christine Newhall-Westcoat.

To honor his wishes, his funeral services will be private, and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
