William E. Sadlier "Bill" age 78, of East Taunton, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Morton Hospital. He was the husband of the late Carolyn (Butler) Sadlier.
Born in Weymouth, he was the son of the late Robert and Helen (Archibald) Sadlier.
Bill worked as an oil burner technician for W.H. Riley Oil Company for many years before retiring.
He was a hands-on man who liked to keep busy, especially in his shop, where he spent countless hours tinkering with projects, fixing tractors, and figuring things out on his own. He previously owned an auto body shop and had a knack for painting cars, with a strong belief in doing things the right way. A fan of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and John Deere tractors, he was a former motorcycle owner who enjoyed long rides and occasionally took part in charity rides. Bill enjoyed watching car racing, listening to classic country music, cooking, growing vegetables, and working around his property. Years ago, he owned a boat and was a member of the Taunton Boat Club, enjoying time fishing with his family. Though not especially sentimental, he cared for homeless cats that found their way to him. Stubborn and independent, he had a strong sense of loyalty and a deep love for his family and friends—even if he didn’t always show it in words.
Bill leaves his two daughters, Heidi Kinney and Bonnie Leite both of Berkley; a brother David Sadlier of Nova Scotia, Canada; two sisters, Anne Hammerle of Buzzards Bay and Charlene Tavares of Fairhaven; six grandchildren, Kaylie, Kyan, Noah, Gavin, Luke, and Gabriel; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert Sadlier and Susan Hutchins.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to visit with Bill's family on Sunday, June 22, 2025 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, with a funeral service beginning at 2:45 pm, in the Sowiecki-Snyder Home for Funerals, 69 West Britannia Street, Taunton.
