David Andrew Conklin

July 7, 1949 — June 18, 2018

David A. Conklin , 68 of Taunton, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018 at the Massachusetts General Hospital, in Boston. He was the husband of the late Dale (Yudkin) Conklin.

Born in Bridgeport, CT, he was a son of the late John F. and Vivian (O’Dell) Conklin.

He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps from 1968 to 1971 during the Vietnam War.

David worked as a truckdriver for Coyne Rug Company in New Bedford for several years, prior to retirement.

Mr. Conklin enjoyed cooking, collecting coins, and was an avid New York Yankees and Minnesota Vikings fan.

He is survived by his son Eric Conklin. David also leaves his former daughter in law, Stephanie A. Roberts, and her husband, Todd, and Hannah Awadallah, who he loved as they were his own daughters; and eight grandchildren, Trenton, Abigail, Lydia, Brandi, Kaila, Kyle, Hadassah, and Ari. David was also the father of the late Sara Elizabeth Conklin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Interment with military honors on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 10:15 am , in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Sowiecki Funeral Home, 69 West Britannia Street, Taunton, MA.
