Emelia Skwarto, age 96, of Taunton, passed away on Tuesday; November 2, 2021.

She was the youngest child of Frank and Agnes Gula Skwarto.

Beloved sister of Stella Skwarto Williamson of California, Aunt of  Matthew J. Skwarto Jr. and wife Annette Skwarto of Taunton, John F. Skwarto and wife Stephanie Skwarto of East Bridgewater, Lucille Skwarto Lebedew and husband William Lebedew of Dighton, Noreen Skwarto Barbrick of Taunton, Sharon Sykora of California  and Janet Gail Williamson of England. She is also survived by 8 grand nieces and nephews and 4 great grand nieces and nephews.
Emelia was predeceased by her brothers Stanislaus J. Skwarto, Vincent J Skwarto, Matthew J. Skwarto Sr., and sisters, Natalie Skwarto Sellger and Olga Skwarto.

Mim or Mimi as she was known to the family was born and educated in Taunton. Her senior quote when she graduated from Taunton High School was “Much wisdom often goes with fewest words." which described her philosophy. Most of her career was at Swank where she was an Executive Secretary to the President. In many ways she was the family historian sharing memories of the city of Taunton through the years. She enjoyed painting, crafts and Polish dancing. She was a sports fan, watching her brothers play in the Twilight League at Hopewell Park where she sold tickets at the gate for the league as a young woman. She was an avid Red Sox fan.

Emelia’s funeral service and interment in Saint Joseph Cemetery will be privately held. Visiting hours will be respectfully omitted.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Sowiecki-Snyder Home for Funerals & Cremation Services, 69 West Britannia Street, Taunton.
