Sowiecki Funeral Home was founded in 1935 by Sylvester P. Sowiecki and his wife, Anne B. (Tokarz) Sowiecki. Together, they owned, operated and occupied the funeral home at its present location, ‪69 West Britannia Street‬ in the Whittenton section of Taunton. Sylvester passed away on October 20, 1987, faithfully serving the community for 52 years. After Sylvester’s passing, his wife Anne continued the legacy of service, until her passing in 2010. For many years they were assisted by their friend James F. “Jay” Moran and after Anne’s passing, continued serving families in their time of need. Sowiecki Funeral Home is closely associated with the city’s Polish community while also serving all faiths and nationalities. The Sowiecki’s were communicants of the Holy Rosary Church and very active in parish activities, civic organizations and the annual Polish Picnic.

In 2015, Jay was joined by fellow funeral director Richard J. Snyder, who worked closely with him until 2019 when he purchased the funeral home which is now known as the Sowiecki-Snyder Home for Funerals & Cremation services. We will continue to serve Taunton and our surrounding communities with the professionalism, integrity, and caring nature.

Still locally owned, operated and occupied today, the Sowiecki- Snyder Home for Funerals & Cremation Services continues to strive to provide personal service with dignity in our comfortable home-like setting.
